To all Survivors of Mother and Baby Homes, I am waiting for clarification from the Irish Government pertaining to Legal Fees paid for by the Irish Government. Below is an extract from the Mother and Baby Institutions Payment Scheme Bill 2022;- Section 37. I ask all Survivors to please wait until we, or I get clarification pertaining to Legal Fees.  Felix O’Neill 


Extract below from the --“Mother and Baby Institutions Payment Scheme Bill 2022” 


Legal costs and expenses 
37. The Scheme may, in accordance with regulations under section 38, provide financial support to applicants to facilitate their— 
  • (a)  seeking the assistance of a legal practitioner in providing an affidavit for the purposes of an application, and
  • (b)  where relevant, availing of independent legal advice for the purpose of their 20 decision to accept or reject an offer under Part 3.
