Repentance in Ireland
The Irish Catholic Church must pay reparations, individual monetary payments for slavery of women and their children they misused to both built their fortunes and run their many business enterprises throughout the State of Ireland. The Irish Catholic Church profited and enriched themselves directly from this evil slave trade. I will argue for a "retroactive compensation" for all Living Witnesses or Survivors of the Gulags of Ireland, like the Magdalene slave Laundries, the rape rooms of Industrial Schools, and Orphanages of Ireland. The Irish Catholic Church who have suppressed and oppressed the under-privileged, women and their children, they must be obliged to pay the ex-slave women and their children and their descendants for all uncompensated servitude and for all unjust compensation, whereby they have been unjustly deprived of compensation on the account of previous condition of servitude and the present condition of servitude. Reparations must be paid retroactive up-to-date, immediately.
The great wealth of the Irish Catholic Church was greatly enhanced by the exploitation of unwed women and their children in the Religious run Irish Gulags. The unwed Irish women and their children were used as a source of free slave labour. Reparations can only work, if we, here in Ireland start telling the truth about the Religious run Irish Gulags. The slave unwed mothers and their children in all the Magdalene Laundries, the Industrial Schools, and Orphanages of Ireland. There isn’t any doubt that the Irish Catholic Church economically benefited from the free slave labour, of unwed mother and their children it used and abused in all their Religious run Gulags of Ireland.
We have more than a century of oppressive Catholic Church policies that occurred throughout Ireland and the manner in which tens of thousands of babies, children and their mothers were brutalised and murdered in these Religious run Irish Gulags. To this day we still have legacies of discriminatory practices, against Living Survivors, ranging from the disproportionately high mortality of unwed mothers in childbirth to the mass incarceration of both unwed mothers and their children. The Irish Catholic Church and the Irish State should bear directly the costs of any reparations program and address crucial truth-telling. Public truth-telling that addresses continued Irish Catholic Church denialism, exposing the reality of Catholic Ireland and makes clear the consequences of decades of inaction, by both the Irish State and the Irish Catholic Church.
Reparations must be paid which will prioritise Living Survivors access to all social services, like health care, housing, education for all Survivors and their children, and a public apology for past wrongs. To do this, Ireland can learn from South Africa, which over two decades ago undertook a national, public truth-telling initiative — the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) -- to address its long history of institutionalised abuses. That initiative was a necessary first step in the country’s process of healing and rebuilding relationships, rooted in a shared past.
In reality and even before the founding of the Irish State in 1922, the Irish Catholic Church was notorious for its repressive policies, against women in general, especially unwed women and their children in particular. The Irish Catholic Church that legally sanctioned detention and abuses of tens of thousands of single mothers and their children, specially after 1922 with the founding of the Irish Free State, under the Anglo-Irish Treaty of December 1921.
Beginning almost immediately, the Irish Catholic Church institutionalised a legal scheme of discrimination, which systematically dispossessed and disenfranchised tens of thousands of single mothers and their children. All were detained illegally in the Religious run Irish Gulags of Ireland, all the unwed mothers and their children were then forced to work as slaves. Slaves of both the Religious run Irish Gulags of Ireland and the Irish Catholic Church. The Cult attempted and did in many cases control the movement of women in everyday Irish life.
Something else we need to investigate, the human rights violations perpetrated during the Clerical rule of Ireland, and to provide a platform for Living Survivors and perpetrators to testify. In previous investigations, all Clerics were given amnesty in exchange for the truth, with Living Witnesses promised reparations, but never received them. For example ;-The Ryan Report Commission gave the Christian Brothers and the Catholic Nuns complete immunity from their actions, the worse of these actions were, Rape, Slavery, Brutality and Torture, even Murder, carried out in all the Industrial Schools of Ireland.
There was a heavy burden placed on Living Witnesses to forgive their perpetrators in exchange for their confessions, especially because perpetrators most often showed little or no remorse. Most if not all the Christian Brothers and the Catholic Nuns who gave evidence at the Ryan Commission, lied, they had no intention of incriminate themselves or their Institutions before the Ryan Commission.

Many of their Clerics actually denied the use of torture, violent theft rape, murder and other violations which actually occurred in their Religious run Irish Gulags. The Clerics would have us believe that life in the Religious Gulags were like Butlin’s Holiday Camps at the time, much like the Nazis who floated the same ideas that the death camps of Hitler were far better than Butlin’s Holiday Camps in England. The Catholic Church even say that these Religious run Irish Gulags, of Magdalene Laundries, Industrial Schools, and Orphanages were Butlin style holiday camps and the evil has been exaggerated by Living Witnesses for money. It is crucial that we continue to challenge the Irish Catholic Church’s repugnant propaganda today. Please what Butlin’s Holiday Camp anywhere in the world, in which thousands of babies and children are flushed into their Septic Tanks, or rejected and dumped by their thousands into cesspools at the side of the Holiday Camps, or ceremonial raped daily, brutalised and tortured, by their staff.
In spite of the fact that there is irrefutable and insurmountable evidence of exchange and custodial rape, torture and murder, on thousands of vulnerable children, committed in all the Religious run Irish Gulags. There was a general feeling among the Living Witnesses that despite being Survivors, of the most punitive rapes and vicious tortures, they the Living Witnesses, were once again required to accept the mantle of reconciliation, while the Irish Catholic Church, laughed, got immunity, refusing to pay their fair share and still remained comfortable in their positions of historic privilege and power. We here in Ireland need urgently to confront the true horrors of the past, and not pay lip service to it. There are thousands of stories of Living Witnesses, me included, talking about degradation, inhumanity, fear and inequity of everyday life, even now, we live that fear daily. We must recognise that all Living Witnesses, were victims of the Religious run Irish Gulags, and that the socioeconomic legacies of that system continued to beset and impact all Living Witnesses.
The benefit of reparations is as much about the process, the recognition of the harm done, to tens of thousands of single women, and their children, women in general, and the need to make amends. Ireland will gain from the truth and would finally put to bed the many wrongs of The Cult, its Clerics and the Irish Catholic Church, committed. It would ameliorate the damage done by decades of The Cult, its Clerics and the Irish Catholic Church.
We need to shatter the silence and denial about the past, our recent past, our shameful past of slavery, our shameful past of enslaved single women, unmarried women and their children. The illegal and outrageous actions committed by The Cult, by their Clerics, with the full support of both the powerful Irish Catholic Church, and the Irish Government. We must stop the false dialogue driven by the Irish Catholic Church and feed by its many enablers in the Press and society at large. We must hold true accountability, and cleanse Ireland of this charade of cancer called The Cult.
WE must now hold them, The Cult to open, public scrutiny, warts and all, and seek the unvarnished truth. Ireland and the Catholic Church needs to reconcile with our slave history, seeking genuine atonement and making meaningful amends through financial reparations and not worthless prayers or fake apologies. Until such time, the travesties of the recent past, like the sex scandals and other secrets of the Religious run Irish Gulags, will continue to plague us with more and more tragic results, with thousands of more babies and children, yet to be discovered in the many secret cesspools and septic tanks, throughout Ireland. The true evil legacy of this manipulative Irish Catholic Church must be acknowledgment of slavery, used in these Religious run commercial Institutions. The Irish Catholic Church’s reign of power, privileges and their sense of entitlement must end, with no taxpayers money to be used to fuel their lies and lifestyle. The horrors of institutionalised slavery by both The Cult and its Clerics must ultimately be met and repudiated by Ireland, its people, once and for all. Owen Felix O’Neill

Rape Classification;-
Different Types of Rape that the Clerics of the Irish Catholic Church used, The Cult used rape of children as a weapon in all their Religious run Gulags in Ireland.
1. Corrective Rape;- This rape was used if a child was different, then other children in the Religious run Irish Gulags. For example a boy or girl who the Clerics felt was to pretty, looked more feminised than other boys or girls around them. Often, the stated argument of the corrective rapist, the male Christian Brother or other male Clerics, is that the rape will turn the child straight, "correcting" their sex or gender, i.e. make them conform to societal Christian norms.
2. Custodial Rape;- Perpetrated specially by a Christian Brothers, or other male Clerics working in a supervisory or custodial position, in any of the Religious run Gulags in Ireland. It includes the rape of vulnerable children in institutional care such as Orphanages, Industrial Schools, Magdalene Laundries, Hospitals, throughout Ireland.
3. Rape by Deception;- Occurs when the perpetrator gains the Child's agreement through fraud. Like it’s approved by God, it’s holy, I’m a holy man, it’s god’s love, or I’m god’s servant, so it’s ok.
4. Serial Rape;- is rape committed by a person or Cleric over a relatively long period of time and committed on a number of victims or children. Most times this type of Rapist is unknown to the victim and follows a specific and predictable pattern of targeting and assaulting victims or children.
5. Payback Rape;- also called "punishment rape" or "revenge rape. It consists of the rape of a female or male, usually by a group of several males. The rape is meant to humiliate the Children as punishment for their prior behaviour towards the perpetrators, normally the Christian Brother, Priest or other male Clerics.
6. Gang Rape;- Occurred when a group of Clerics participated in the rape of a single child. Rape involving two or more violators is widely reported to have occur in all the Religious run Gulags in Ireland. All the children, boys or girls were prayed on by groups of roaming Clerics in all Religious run Gulags in Ireland. Gang rapes generally happened during the night, by sexually frustrated Christian Brothers, Priests or other Male or Female Clerics. We know that the Gang Rapes of Christian Clerics were more violent and with little or no resistance from the hapless children, we also know that a few of the children didn’t survive or committed or contemplated suicide, then or later in life. The children never recovered their Gang Rapes. We also know that orphan children who survived Gang Rape in all the Religious run Gulags in Ireland, suffered longer lasting psychological trauma throughout their entire lives.
7. Rape of a Child;- When a child is raped by an adult who is not a family member but is a caregiver or in a position of authority over the child, such as a Catholic Priest, Christian Brother or other Religious Cleric, on whom the vulnerable child is dependent, the effects can be similar to incestual rape. The Rape of a vulnerable Child is often used as a means of psychological game in order to humiliate the vulnerable child and undermine his or her morale. Rapes in Religious run Gulags in Ireland were often systematic and thorough, and The Cult actually had encourage their Christian Clerics to rape children. Systematic rapes were employed as a form of control of the children in all the Religious run Gulags in Ireland. From time immemorial, of the founding of the Religious run Gulags in Ireland, in the 19th. century, child rape has been regarded as a means of control, specially the Christian Brothers and other male Christian Clerics. After all the rape of children was considered a trophy of the Christian Religious Orders, and not just in Ireland, but throughout the world. Something else the Christian Brothers and other male Christian Clerics viewed the children in their Gulags as the property of the Cult, the Catholic Church, and could and did what they wanted with them, the children in their care.
8. There are a number of Rapes I can describe based on the goal of the Clerical rapist or Clerical pedophile. I can think of just three;-(1.) The Angry Rapist or Pedophile. (2) The Power Rapist or Pedophile. (3) The Sadistic Rapist, or Pedophile. All were employed in the Religious run Gulags of Ireland. Please remember According to Howard Barbaree,
a psychologist at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario;- “Most rapes are impulsive and opportunistic, and committed by people who may commit other impulsive acts, including impulsive crimes. These Rapists or or Pedophile tend to show no anger except in response to their victim's resistance, and use little unnecessary force.”
- Sub-classifications created by an American, the excellent researcher Patricia D. Rozee ;-
- Exchange Rape - rape occurring as the result of bargaining or solidarity-displaying among men.
- Punitive Rape - rape used to punish or discipline.
- Theft Rape - rape that happens when a woman or man is abducted, in most cases to be used as a slave or a prostitute.
- Ceremonial Rape - rape involving defloration rituals.
- Status Rape - rape resulting from differences in hierarchy or social class.
All the above classifications of Rape took place on a daily basis in all the Religious run Institutions in Ireland, by the Christian Clerics that ran them, like -The Christian Brother, the different groups of Nuns that ran the Institutions, the Catholic Priests, other Male Religious Orders who ran and visited the many Religious run Institutions of Ireland. In fact as I said before all Orphanages, Industrial Schools, Magdalene Laundries, Hospitals, and Asylums throughout Ireland, were the “Rape Rooms” for any and all Christian Clerics, both male and female. Don’t take my word for it, please read any of the Official Irish Government Reports.
I too was a product of these Religious run Institutions in Ireland, for 18 years, my story like thousands of others, boys and girls, can be found both in The Ryan Report http://www.childabusecommission.ie/ or in many of my articles I wrote, which can be found on www.tuambabies.org There are still a few thousand boys and girls, alive today. Now men and women of these Religious run Institutions of Ireland. I call them “Living Witnesses” to the horrors that took place in all of the Religious run Institutions in Ireland. Owen Felix O’Neill
