The Religious run Institutions in Ireland run by the Catholic Church in Ireland, like the Mother and Baby Homes, Orphanages, Industrial Schools and the Magdalene Laundries, concealed a secret world of starvation, disease, and unnatural death a world into which tens of thousands of Irish Children and their Mothers disappeared each year. There was a pattern of cruelty, rape/beatings, and malign neglect which has dominated child welfare work in Ireland since the founding of the Irish State in early 1920 and which now constitutes one of the Ireland's gravest human rights problems. The death rate from infectious disease and neglect was higher than 70%, in some Orphanages and Mother and Baby Homes, that was particularly abusive. In all the Religious run Institutions in Ireland, the overall annual mortality among institutionalised orphans in any given year ranged from 45.2 percent to as high 74.5 percent. Worse still there is evidence that many disabled infants and children were simply transferred to a Church run Institution, where access for outsiders was extremely rare and where, according to numerous reports, like “The Ryan Report” children and disabled children were grossly mistreated and allowed to die, then disposed of in inhuman ways, like been flushed down a septic tank through the toilet and into a bigger septic tank buried on the grounds of the many Religious run Institution in Ireland. https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/3c76d0-the-report-of-the-commission-to-inquire-into-child-abuse-the-ryan-re/ The Religious Orders that managed and staffed all the Religious run Institutions in Ireland, and cannot claim that their shortcomings result from a lack of funding or from inadequately paid employees, after all their employees were slave women and children taken from the Mother and Baby Homes and Orphanages in Ireland and forced to work as unpaid slaves. We must dispel a misconception reflected in nearly all Irish Press media coverage of the issue to date, that the poor Nuns, Christian Brother or Catholic Priests were doing their best. Please let’s be clear forced slave-labour was used to both enrich the Religious Orders that ran the Religious run Institutions in Ireland and the Catholic Church in Ireland who owned them. We must also confirm that many Irish orphanages, including some recording death rates among the worst in the country, appear to enjoy more than sufficient budgets. The Irish State paid the Religious Orders expenses for each children, for food, clothing, and other necessities. Yet Children died by the thousands from hunger, by the way no Nun, Priest or Religious Brother ever died from hunger. In fact monies were stolen from Orphanages to fund the building of Cathedrals and Churches in Ireland. Take for example The Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nichola in Galway City. The funds used to built this monstrosity was stolen from Tuam’s Mother and Baby Home fund by Michael J. Browne, the then Bishop of Galway. The same Mother and Baby Home in Galway County in which over 800 children were flushed into a septic tank, and are still in the tanks today. Most of the children died from basic malnutrition, like gastroenteritis, pneumonia, diarrhoea and measles. All the children were Murdered, make no mistake to deprive vulnerable children in your care of food, and steal the money from them that feeds them to build a Holy Cathedral, that is Murder, plain and simple. When the small child's death finally arrives, its most immediate cause is by cardiac arrhythmia or a heart attack brought on by either extreme tissue degradation brought about by autophagy, or severe electrolyte imbalances. Each child’s death was preventable, we didn’t need another Cathedral or Church in Ireland. Galway already had a 13th. Century Cathedral, The Collegiate Church of St. Nicholas, founded in 1320, the largest medieval parish church in Ireland. The majority of orphan children in Ireland were never adopted, many instead were sent instead to general-purpose Religious run Institutions, where they are confined indiscriminately with retarded, disabled, elderly, and mentally disturbed children ruled brutality by religious pedophiles. There were Religious Sadists of sexual frustrated Christian Brothers, terrifying Nuns, who thrived on gratification of pain of tortured children, and others that derived pure pleasure, especially sexual gratification, from inflicting pain, torture, rape and humiliation on defenceless children. Religious fanatics with god complexes, who were no saints, moral monsters, sadistic religious fanatics who took great pleasure in the suffering of vulnerable women and their children. Eyewitness accounts available from many Survivors, myself included, most of it recored in great detail in the The Ryan Report. Which suggests that death rates among children held in these Religious run Institutions, may be even higher. There is still accountability to be made by both the Catholic Church in Ireland, and the Irish State. The known records were doctored by the Religious Orders at the behest of the Catholic Church in Ireland. Anecdotal evidence from both Survivors and The Ryan Report painted a grim picture of decrepit and poorly financed institutions run by demoralised and unskilled Religious Staff. Deaths in all the Religious run Institutions in Ireland, the Mother and Baby Homes, Orphanages, Industrial Schools and the Magdalene Laundries, were in many cases deliberate and cruel. The Religious Orders that ran them for profit reportedly selected unwanted infants and children for death by intentional deprivation of food and water. Or depriving the orphan children in their care of medicines, or subjecting the vulnerable children to illegal drug experiments, in which the Religious Orders were paid millions at the time by the Drug Companies. When an orphan child was chosen and on the point of death from starvation or medical neglect, the Nuns or Religious Brothers, blessed the dying child. Deaths in many cases was from acute malnutrition. The Nuns or other Religious Orders in all cases, falsely recorded the cause of death, often entirely spurious or irrelevant conditions such as "mental deficiency" and Jesus called the child to heaven. Let’s make it simple- Any Child who died from hunger in any of the Religious run Institutions in Ireland was Murdered, plain and simple, criminal incompetence. Owen Felix O’Neill
